David Burns

David Burns is a criminal defense attorney dedicated to fighting for clients across the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. He has built a track record of success handling both felony and misdemeanor cases, securing dismissals and not guilty verdicts on behalf of the people he represents. David began his career with a background in civil rights matters, including employment discrimination, evictions, and criminal record expunctions, as well as other civil and personal injury matters, including class action litigation, before turning his focus to criminal defense.

David's work has been recognized by his peers and the legal community. In 2023, he was named to the National Trial Lawyers Association's Top 40 Under 40. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas, and he is a member of the Texas Future Indigent Defense Leaders program, reflecting his ongoing commitment to indigent defense and the broader fight for fair treatment under the law.

David earned his Juris Doctor from UNT Dallas College of Law in 2021. After earning his bachelor's degree from Oklahoma State University in 2018, he chose to stay in Texas, become certified by the Texas Bar, and fight against injustices throughout the DFW metroplex. David is focused and motivated to help people fight against criminal charges that could permanently alter their lives. He takes pride in building meaningful, trusting relationships with his clients and always puts their best interests first.
